Analysis of curcumin and piperine in biological samples by reversed-phase liquid chromatography with multi-wavelength detection

Widely accessible food phytochemicals such as curcumin have been reported to anti-inflammatory and anticarcinogenic properties. However, has poor absorption in the gut, piperine of interest a dietary compound that can enhance bioavailability. The aim this study was develop optimize technique using reversed-phase chromatography with multi-wavelength detection for simultaneous measurement various biological matrices. Emodin used an internal standard. Protein precipitation liquid-liquid extraction based on acetonitrile provided good recovery these analytes. A 150 mm × 4.6 I.D.
